Tasting notes: Mild but humid autumn day, with a cranberry pucker
Farm location: Lincang, Yunnan Province
"Ripe" pu'erh (or "Shou") is post-fermented naturally aged tea. The natural aging fermentation allows the sharp notes of the tea to soften, creating a more mellow tea in body, but much deeper in spirit. This tea reminds me of cool autumn air with damp dying leaves and the fresh damp earth smell from rain. The sentiment I get from this tea is very warming and comforting, and in my opinion is best enjoyed with good company.
