Tasting notes: Dark chocolate/cocoa, light charcoal baked notes, sweet, refreshing and warming

Japanese green tea is usually steamed which creates some of its most famous grassy/stewed veggie notes, but alas some days that just isnt what im looking for but still know i want a green tea. Hoji cha isn't steamed its roasted in a porcelain pot over a charcoal fire, which give the tea a wonderful baked note. this roasting "kills off" the more "green notes" leaving you with a deliciously light bodies tea that has both the energy and warming comfort to make this tea very comforting, hoji cha is also an amazing after dinner tea........maybe with dessert?
