Tasting notes: honeydew melon, caramel sweetness, creamy and light with a refreshing finish
Farm location: Nantou County, Taiwan
Qing Xin or "green heart oolong" is a very popular Taiwanese oolong cultivar used to make many Gaoshan favorites (e.g., Alishan, Shan Lin Xi). Typically bug bitten teas are more oxidized to really push the richness and to create a darker depth. But, I’m a really passionate greener oolong lover and this tea brings together the best of the two worlds: This "light" oolong has an interesting depth that leaves a lasting finish, not only in flavor but also in energy ("qi").
