This tea is notorious for its potty mouth translation of “duck shit aroma.” However, this tea is far from a novelty. The origin story of this tea has many variations, but the gist is this: A tea farmer had the best crop that he had ever produced, but he didn’t want other producers to sneak into his garden to damage his tea or steal grafts from his plants. So, the farmer told his peers that his crop was no good because it smelled of “duck feces.” Hence, the tea was named “duck shit (feces) aroma."
Despite the sordid history surrounding the name of this tea, make no mistake: This tea is full of robust flavor, Qi (energy), and its texture is remarkable. I highly recommend this shiTEA! ;)
